Message from the PTO Co-Presidents

Dear Meyerland PVA Families,

We're just one day away from our exciting Greyhound Night event tomorrow, Thursday, April 17th from 5:00-7:00 PM!

Event Details

Check in at the science building entrance to receive your wristband.
Admission: $5 per person - Your wristband gives you access to all of the games, the cake walk, and face painting!
Dunk Tank: 5:00-7:00 PM- 3 balls for $5
- Mr. Mitchell, Ms. Graves, Coach Jackson, and Dr. Thompson have all volunteered to get dunked to support MPVA PTO!
Art Walk: Art will be displayed in the walkway between the gym and science building. All of the displayed Art will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to support MPVA's PTO initiatives!

Bring Cash!

Raffle Tickets: 1 for $2, 3 for $5, and 7 for $10
Concessions Snacks from Peco's Snack Bar and dinner from Tacos El Jaibo will be available for purchase

Still Need Volunteers!

We're still short a few volunteers to help with:

Game booth and Art Walk supervision (5:00-7:00 PM shift)
Clean-up crew (7:00-7:30 PM)

Teacher Support Committee

Thanks to everyone who has already signed up for our new Teacher Volunteer Support Committee! We've been hard at work developing some key areas that we can help our teachers with. Look for more information soon!

Reminder: No School Friday

Greyhound Fun Night

April 17th | 5-7pm

This fun-filled community event promises something for everyone, including:

Games and prizes
Food for purchase from Tacos el Jaibo
MPVA Art Walk featuring our talented students' work
A DUNK TANK where you can dunk Mr. Mitchell, Ms. Graves, Coach Jackson, and Dr. Thompson!

Tickets are $5 for all the games you can play (the dunk tank is a separate donation). Pick up your tickets HERE. All proceeds from this event will directly support the PTO's efforts to continue providing resources and support to our wonderful teachers, staff, and school community.

Magent Signing Day

May 3rd | 9am - 12pm

We need lots of volunteers to help welcome our new Greyhound families into our community. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your MPVA experience and help new families feel at home. Sign up HERE!

Kona Ice trucks will be at MPVA after school, enjoy an icy treat while supporting MPVA PTO!

8th Grade Dance

May 9th | 6-9pm

Calling all 8th graders, it's time to CELEBRATE Red Carpet Style!

Join us as we roll out the red carpet for MPVA's 8th graders, a night of glamour and celebration. Dinner provided.

Sign up here to help set up, chaperone, and clean up the 8th Grade Dance! We ask that 8th grade parents help set up and clean and for 6th & 7th grade parents to chaperone the dance.

Volunteer Opportunities

Teacher Volunteer Support Committee

The teacher support committee has identified that making copies for teachers would be helpful, but before we can come up with a plan, we need to know how many volunteers are interested in helping with this task. The general plan as of now is to do grade level copies one day a week and magnet copies on one or two more days. As of now, we need to see what our volunteer capacity is and make a plan from there. Copies will be made on flexible schedules from 9:30am to 4pm. If you think you can volunteer on a semi-regular day of the week, please indicate that on the form. Click HERE to sign up to help!

8th Grade Activities

Dance 5.9 | 6-9pm

Sign up here to help set up, chaperone, and clean up the 8th Grade Dance! We ask that 8th grade parents help set up and clean and for 6th & 7th grade parents to chaperone the dance.

Field Day 5.30 | 1-4pm

Field Trip 6.2 | 10am-1:30pm

Sign up here to chaperone the Field Trip to Main Event! All chaperones will need to drive themselves to Main Event, buses are for students and staff only.

Greyhound Store

Our Student Incentive Committee needs your help working the Greyhound Store! Students receive greyhound bucks from teachers & staff when they do something great and are on the honor roll. They get to spend those bucks at the Greyhound Store which is open twice a month during lunch periods and is full of treats and goodies.

Volunteers are needed to work the store and donations of candy, chips, and gift cards are appreciated!
