SUBJECT: Meyerland PVA PTO Newsletter (May 8, 2025)

May 8, 2025
Message from the PTO Co-Presidents

As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible teachers for their tireless dedication and commitment to our children. The passion they bring to the classroom each day truly shapes the future of our community. A special thank you to our amazing Teacher Appreciation Committee for orchestrating such a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week filled with thoughtful gestures and celebrations!

We'd also like to congratulate everyone who helped make our recent Signing Day event such a success. Welcoming our new families to our MPVA community was a joyful experience, and we're excited to see new friendships blossom in the coming school year.

Coffee with the Principal

Please mark your calendars for Coffee with the Principal on Tuesday, May 13th – a great opportunity to connect and discuss upcoming end-of-year activities.

Eighth Grade

Speaking of which, as we prepare to celebrate our eighth graders and send them off to high school, we need your help! Please consider volunteering for one of our special events through the signup genius, in our volunteer section below. Also, if you have not filled out your behaviour contract with your 8th grader, please do so now.  You can find a link to the form on the front page of our website. Please note: if your student does not fill out and turn in their behavior contract they will not be able to participate in our 8th grade activities!

These memories will last a lifetime for our Greyhounds, and your participation helps make them possible.

Thank you for all you do to make our school community so special!

Warmly,

Michelle Manning and Rochelle Cabe MPVA PTO Co-Presidents

Volunteer Opportunities
Teacher Volunteer Support Committee

The teacher support committee has identified that making copies for teachers would be helpful, but before we can come up with a plan, we need to know how many volunteers are interested in helping with this task. The general plan as of now is to do grade level copies one day a week and magnet copies on one or two more days. As of now, we need to see what our volunteer capacity is and make a plan from there. Copies will be made on flexible schedules from 9:30am to 4pm. If you think you can volunteer on a semi-regular day of the week, please indicate that on the form. Click HERE to sign up to help!

If you have any questions, please email amanda.sorena@sorenapr.com. All volunteers must be VIPS approved.
