September 2, 2025

Dear Greyhound Families,

I hope you all enjoyed the well-timed 4-day holiday weekend! It was a much-needed break for our family, and I hope it was for yours too.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our call for help with the School Store — we’ll be announcing our new School Store Team soon!

This is a short school week, which can sometimes be a bit confusing. If you're feeling a little lost, don’t worry — I’m here to help! Navigating the school website can feel overwhelming, so here are a few helpful links to get you started:

Please Note the Schedule for This Week:

  • Tuesday, September 3rd – Greyhound Day
  • Wednesday, September 4th – Purple Day
  • Thursday, September 5th – Grey Day

🏫 Open House – Thursday, September 11th | 5:00–7:30 PM

Come join us for Open House! The School Store will be open during the event.

Pro Tip: Pre-order your items online and pick them up at Open House — it’s faster and easier! In-person purchases will also be available. If you’re able to volunteer, please sign up via Membership Toolkit. We’d love your help!

📚 First PTO Meeting – Wednesday, September 17th | 6:30 PM in the School Library

Join us for our first PTO meeting of the year! We’ll be voting on the 2025–2026 budget and would love your input. Your voice helps us align our efforts with the needs and priorities of our families.

Thank you for being such an important part of our MPVA community!

Warmly,

Naomi

Important Information
We Are Meyerland

In October, the MPVA PTO Fundraising Team will be kicking off our annual four-week capital campaign called "We Are MPVA."

Every year, we like to feature different short profiles of students/admin/teachers and how they make MPVA the place we love. Features are short stories and a photo that are posted on PTO social media as well is in school and PTO emails with information on how to donate. This capital campaign makes up a significant portion of our general PTO Operating Budget that allows us to say YES to more teacher grants, admin requests, beautification, athletic support, magnet support, core teacher support...and all the places we know our HISD budgets fall short of providing the educational supports our students deserve.

Stay tuned for more info in October on how to give and the incentives. (Can we say paint a courtyard Paw?)

Got a great MPVA story? If so, tell us below. Love a particular club or teacher? Tell us! Is your student a 2nd generation Greyhound? Tell us! Did your Aunt paint a mural? Tell us!

Click here to tell us YOUR story!
