February 16, 2026

Dear Greyhound Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Coffee with Mr. Mitchell and the Community PTO Meeting! We truly appreciate your time, participation, and the thoughtful conversations that help strengthen our Greyhound community.

February has flown by, and March is just around the corner — with so many exciting things ahead!

🥧 Spring Fundraiser: Greyhound Grade Pie RaceThe Greyhound Grade Pie Race is officially underway! This one-week, grade-level fundraising competition gives each grade its own dedicated donation link on the PTO website. Families, friends, and community members can donate to support their favorite grade. The grade that raises the most money will earn bragging rights — and something even sweeter! Let the friendly competition begin!

🌯 Spirit Night – March 25th (4–8 PM)Mark your calendars! Our next Spirit Night will be at Chipotle on March 25th from 4–8 PM. Take the night off from cooking and join fellow MPVA families for great food and community connection.

🎭 NJHS Talent Show – March 6thAuditions were held last week, and we are excited for the NJHS Talent Show on March 6th during 7th and 8th periods. Tickets go on sale February 23rd for $5 and will be available before school in holding areas and during lunch. The show is open to parents of performers. PTO volunteers are needed to assist with crowd support — come see the incredible talent walking our halls!

Teacher & Staff AppreciationA huge thank you to Cool Runnings for providing a wonderful lunch to celebrate our teachers on February 13th! This Wednesday, February 18th, Coffee Q will treat our teachers, administrators, and maintenance staff to coffee, with snacks available as well. We are grateful for our community partners who help us show appreciation to our amazing MPVA team!

💙 PTO Leadership Needs You!Whether you're interested in a leadership role, joining a committee, or simply learning more about how the PTO supports our school, we would love to connect with you. Please reach out to me at president@mpvapto.com. Let’s talk about where help is needed, how you can make a meaningful impact, and how every bit of involvement strengthens our Greyhound community.

Warmly,

Important Information
Class of 2026

8th Grade Parents,

As we head into the final semester of middle school, we can hardly believe how quickly the year is moving! If you haven’t had a chance yet, it’s not too late to take care of your 8th grade fees. Every contribution helps us finish the year strong and make these final months memorable for our students.

As we move into the spring semester, please be on the lookout for upcoming volunteer opportunities. Parents interested in volunteering should ensure they are VIPS approved(https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NjcyOmVuLVVT), as this will be required to participate. Taking care of this now will help things run smoothly as events approach.

Personalized yearbook ads purchased through Jostens(https://www.jostens.com) are only available for a limited time. Families who are interested should be sure to check their personal email for details and deadlines so they don’t miss this opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact Jostens directly at 800-358-0800.

If you previously set up automatic payments in MTK, please be sure to stop any recurring payments to avoid being charged beyond your intended amount.

If any family is in need of financial assistance or has concerns regarding fees, please don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing 8thgradechair@mpvapto.com. All inquiries will be handled confidentially.

Lastly, be sure to mark your calendar for February 2nd, when all things “Class of 2026” will be released. More details and exciting information are coming your way!

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,

8th Grade Planning Committee
