Many companies encourage and support employee charitable giving by at least doubling donations that their employees and retirees make to 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organizations like the MPVA PTO. In 2019 the PTO of Johnston Middle School changed its name to Meyerland PVA Middle School PTO (MPVA PTO). The name change was accepted by the IRS the same year but has yet to update their database. Please use PTO of Johnston Middle School and the EIN 76-0332081 for validation How do I request a matching gift? You will need to request a matching gift from your employer. You can do this by completing and submitting a paper or online match form that your employer provides. Your company then sends us a check to use for enriching the MPVA experience. Email fundraising@mpvapto.com or treasurere@mpvapto.com with questions or if you have submitted a matching gift form so we can let you know when we’ve received your employer’s match.

Meyerland Middle School for the Performing Arts Parent Teacher Organization (MPVA PTO) is a non-profit public charity designated as a 509 (a)(2). IRS Publication 557 (Rev. February 2021) defines a public charity with an IRS designation of 509 (a)(2) as one that receives the greater share of its revenue from membership dues; and/or program revenue (money earned from the sale of goods and/or services directly related to the nonprofit’s exempt purpose).
